First, it shows a bubble with the text "New program installed". If the program folder is opened, new entries are highlighted yellow. Unfortunately, the created unistall.exe is always shown as new (has yellow background) which is quite irritating for users. Sometimes this "bubble" is also shown again and again.. After some digging in the network, I've learned that the file version info is used by Windows to detect whether the file is new. Thus, I used the functions VIProductVersion and VIAddVersionKey to set this information. But it does not change anything... I think this issue should filed as bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Amir Szekely (kichik) Date: 2006-09-29 16:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=584402 According to my tests, it's actually the opposite. If the file has version information, it will get highlighted. If it doesn't, it won't. But even if that doesn't help, I don't think that's something NSIS has to handle. It's a shortcut from the start menu to a program. It's something Windows wants to bug the user about this and has no API to avoid this. BTW, According to Microsoft guidelines, uninstallers shouldn't even be linked from the start menu. That's what the Add/Remove control panel is for. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373085&aid=1567511&group_id=22049 |
