Category: Documentation Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jim Michaels (jmichae3) >Assigned to: Anders (anders_k) Summary: relnotes and docs for RequestExecutionLevel insufficient Initial Comment: Windows 7 code was based on Windows Vista code. please read the following web page about the UAC. http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/FZ_UAC It documents about how writing into C:\Program Files\ ($PROGRAMFILES) could cause your non-compliant application to be stuffed into the virtual store directory instead of where you expect it. - so what will reading do? go to C:\Program Files\ and miss the application, causing errors? someone verify! I would like to see at least a link to some documentation about the XML manifest that I am supposed to include, possibly is is in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235591%28VS.80%29.aspx. well, that documentation says the manifest is in the application executeable itself, and the user needs to know that. I don't always know whether the application I am writing an installer for has a manifest in it or not. the one I just wrote for does not, so I don't know how to handle that in windows 7. tell me. apparently non-microsoft compilers are not going to be windows 7 compatible for a while yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=373085&aid=2867942&group_id=22049 |
