Category: General Group: 2.0 Series Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jared Barneck (rhyous) Assigned to: Amir Szekely (kichik) Summary: Running uninstall.exe silently leaves uninstall.exe Initial Comment: If I run uninstall.exe it properly deletes itself. If I run uninstall.exe /S it does not. I have searched for a while on this and though I am not convinced it is a bug (cause it could be a configuration issue I am missing) any other option eludes me. Thanks, Jared dot Barneck at landesk dot com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Amir Szekely (kichik) Date: 2009-03-20 13:44 Message: Might be a timing issue. What happens if you add Sleep 3000 before deleting the uninstaller? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jared Barneck (rhyous) Date: 2009-03-04 01:48 Message: Actually I am not executing this in the uninstall from the installer itself but from a command line post installation. The uninstaller is placed here: "c:\program files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\SupportTools\Uninstall.exe" If I run this command from cmd.exe, without the switch, it works perfectly and deletes itself. "c:\program files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\SupportTools\Uninstall.exe" If I add the /S switch, it does not delete itself. "c:\program files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\SupportTools\Uninstall.exe" So I need my software to be able to both install and uninstall silently. I work for LANDesk and I am will be deploying this tool remotely using a desktop management application called Management Suite. I tried just doing Example 1.nsi and adding the installer, but it does not duplicate. So either it is something I am doing that is more complex that is breaking this or some configuration I am doing...I am still not sure if it is configuration or bug... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Amir Szekely (kichik) Date: 2009-03-03 21:25 Message: Wrong FAQ, my bad. I'll take a look at this later. This minimal example worked for me though... Section WriteUninstaller $TEMP\uninst.exe Exec '"$TEMP\uninst.exe" /S' SectionEnd Section uninstall Delete $TEMP\uninst.exe MessageBox MB_OK sshhhh!!!
