This is installer is quite nice, but problem is that I
also need installer which createst package with same
values only for Linux (ok I might need some files on
linux that I don't on windows and vice versa), but in
gist I would also need installer for Linux...

NSIS is written for the Windows platform and uses lots of
Windows features. Creating an install system for Linux would
    require almost a complete rewrite.

How about a way to run only the NSIS build process on Linux?
I can currently fully automate packaging for Linux and other
Unix platforms I support on my Red Hat system, but for my
Windows version I can only prepare all the files, but still
have to sit down at a PC and manually run the NSIS build
process against my .nsi file to create the Windows installer
    file...

See latest CVS version or simply use Wine.

Can the "latest CVS version" be build and run on Linux? I
was able to get it working with Wine!! I had to make some
hacks to my directory structure, as NSIS under Wine does not
handle directories that are links ("File /r mydir" fails,
where mydir is a link to another target dir), but I got it
    to work.
    Thanks!

rewriting a program from scratch is a pain, but it can be worth the rewrite
