#1 NRPE does not return status information

The issue we have is that the Status Information for returned by NRPE contains nothing other then "NRPE v2.12" for all services and contains no other information such as percent CPU usage etc. We get the Status watermarks (color coded etc).

Running nagios 3.2.1 (clean install) and NRPE 2.12 for our local and remote servers (both installation have been done twice from scratch with the same results)
I have attached an image of the error where you can see in the 'Status Information' column for the local host (not using NRPE) the information being displayed, while at the top the remote host accessed using NRPE returns just the text "NRPE v2.12"

How is this fixed?
