#16 Passing code does not work, GUI not found

I just recently set up a new windows 7 machine, but I cannot get Notepad++ (v5.9.8) to interact with R (v2.14.1). Npptor version is 2.6.0.

When starting up, an error message indicates that the Rgui.exe could not be found, but everything should work on starting R manually. However, trying to pass code via F8 does not seem to do anything at all.

Would appreciate any form of help!

    I have the same problem.
    32bit Windows 7, R2.14.1, NotePad++5.9.8 and NppToR 2.6.0.

    Can't pass R code from NotePad++ to R. When right click on NppToR in the task bar, I only see three options: Suspend Hotkeys, Pause Script, and Exit.

    Tried uninstall and install many times, and it did not work.

    Hope there will be a solution soon,.

    Ensure that all the programs are running with the same permissions. Can you specify the R home in the settings?

    I see same problems on many student computers this week. Don't know why.

    Here's the fix. The system PATH variable needs to have the R bin directory appended. Start control panel -> system -> advanced -> Environment variables . Scroll down to PATH. edit that, on the end put semicolon and the path to R's bin directory. After adding that, it is necessary to log out and log in again. I do not think it is necessary to add the "i386" on the end of the path, but if trying just ";C:\Program Files\R\R-2.15.2\bin" or whatever is insufficient, I would try it.

    Paul Johnson's suggestion does not help for me. See separate bug report as well, concerning NppToR not recognizing there's a running Rgui .
