[Notion-general] using intellij ide

Hello, I have noticed that I cannot open intellij at all with notion as a
windows manager. I have heard that there are some issues with java apps
using non parenting wms. Could this be the problem?

I have also noticed that in Netbeans I can open the Java Platforms dialog
but when I try to add a new platform the dialog doesn't open.

I attempted to fix this with

export _JAVA_AWT_WM_NONREPARENTING=1

in my .xinitrc but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there anything I can do to fix these? Could it be a problem with notion?
Any help would be great.
