Searching through the archives, I believe this topic has surfaced in various forms (but I couldn't discern a definitive answer or solution). Essentially, I like to use popup launchers like synapse and launchy. On a stacking wm and other tiling wm's, the popup dialogue displays in the center of the active display. In notion, the dialogue shows by default in the center of the active frame. Not functionally a big deal most of the time, provided the frame is of sufficient width. When the window frame is not, the dialogue becomes unusable as the input field is truncated (out of view). Is there a way to have the application show as expected in the middle of the display? I've been trying the various winprop attributes without any success. Fullscreen stretches the dialogue across the top of the display which, while usable, is visually unwieldy. Everything else I have tried still is restricted to the current frame. Not a show stopper for the best wm there is but if someone knows the answer, would be appreciated. Thanks! -- "Truth or die."
