Ok solved, thanks Johannes, Arnout. I followed Johannes' idea with drivers. Actually, I have ATI RAdeon, not nvidia. But the idea of having 1000 packages put up automatically by dist-upgrades caused me to check. Jeez, I had like drivers for every card there was on the market since 1970s. So what I did was remove xserver-xorg-video-* and KEEP xserver-xorg-video-radon. (It removes the metapackage xorg-vide-ati, but heck.). No filickering anymore. So, to summarize, it is a driver issue, Arnout you can sleep soundly:) Unfortunately, I do not know the REAL cause. namely, some conflict must have occured that forbade my card to do some specific function needed for smooth refresh. Hard to trace though. I don't even know which combination caused the conflict, I removed like 30 packages altogether, hard to say which one was problematic. regards wojtek On Thu, Aug 30, 2012 at 7:11 PM, Johannes Segitz <joh...@gm...> wrote: > On Tue, Aug 28, 2012 at 10:15 PM, Wojtek Aniszewski > <pen...@gm...> wrote: >> I have a problem with statusbar which notoriously "blinks" everytime >> (it seems) it refreshes. Because there are two pentahedral graphs, there are two convex pentahedra, namely the square pyramid and the triangular prism. The triangular prism is the unique convex pentahedra having unit edge lengths. (Eric W. Weisstein. "Pentahedron."
