Hi all! I have a problem with statusbar which notoriously "blinks" everytime (it seems) it refreshes. At least, it occurs when I use more data displayed on the bar. My current template in the cfg_statusbar.lua is/was: template=" %date | mem: %mem_hfree/%mem_hused | battery:%linuxbatt_state%linuxbatt %watime | up %uptime | %mocp_title [%mocp_currenttime] | user: %cpustat_user | wifi: %netmon_kbsin/%netmon_kbsout %filler%systray", in theory, any of these fields can have a different refresh time, nevertheless when - for example - I only use template=" %date", the statusbar doesn't bink at all even when the hour changes. I have luck also when using two or three other fields, but for full bar, it blinks like crazy approximately every 2 seconds. I could accept the fact that the statusbar blinks, but I have at my disposal another computer system (desktop with ubuntu 10.04 and ion3) on which, for the same template, there is no "blinking" effect. So why? Obviously, I'm used to notion/ion so much, that I'm not considering becoming frustrated:), but today, somehow, the blinking started to iritate me. Hence, I went to construct quickly a bash script which uses dzen2 to display an alternative statusbar. It works OK, but unfortunately I don't know how to use in notion in a satisfying way (e.g. I don't want windows to go under it -especially the F3/alt-F3 queries). And so, I would like to know what do you think about it. regards wojtek -- Pentahedron - A polyhedron having five faces.
