#20 make bristol/brighton work in notion

Bristol's gui, brighton, had a bit of a clumsy way of keeping the GUI's aspect ratio constant, causing it to interfere with notion's insistence on a specific size.

This is a bug in brighton, but it seems reasonable to track it here, too, as most window managers likely have no problem with this :).
