Notepad++ sucks because it's free. I prefer more expensive software.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I would love to hear the reasoning behind this. You could donate if it makes you feel better, but boycotting something because it's free is just plain ignorant. That's the beauty and stability that gives us open source software. my assumption is that the only person that would really complain about a tool as useful and powerful would be to promote their own tool. it's sad that you must post this on the forum it makes you look plain ignorant.  Just because something is expensive you buy it instead of using something that a developer or group of talented developers made and are giving to you and have the ability to let you do more with it.  you would rather get a box software that is locked in and you have no power to adapt it to what you are working on.  based on your statement, you sound like the person that compensates for his/her short coming or weaknesses and you believe that spending money on things inherently makes it better.  Take Microsoft or Apple for example. they have a ton of money and develop application that cost a ton. Linux is free and community supported.  Does that make Linux inferior to Windows or Mac? Let me ask you this which has bugs and gets viruses and crashes?  Windows and Mac both have virus troubles (mac not nearly as much as windows but still has some virus and issues with people hacking into those computers) Linux/UNIX have NO viruses and are more secure than both Windows and Mac with the base install. Linux is free yet more stable, has more available application that can run on it, and runs on just about every hardware platform. So please explain why you think Notepad++ suck because it's free? and what more expensive software do you use that's supposedly so much better? If you are referring to Visual Studio or something like that, then it's sad you haven't find the free replacement for it. it works better and doesn't crash as much as the real visual studio. I feel sorry for you for not understanding the value of this tool.

Geez... C'mon man, I was just being sarcastic.
I love N++ and I just forgo discounted upgrade to UE v15 because it's N++ is really good. (Named bookmarks is one thing I'd like, though.)
BTW, Linux is no more secure than any other OS, hackers aren't targeting it because there's no money in it _yet_.
