    Hi All,

I am using notepad++ v4.0.2. I would like to make a suggestion to improve notepad++. It is a feature available in Crimson Editor 3.70. It has an inbuilt FTP feature to

Edit remote files directly using built-in FTP client
    - open, edit, and save documents in remote FTP servers.
    - save account information (encoded) for automatic logon.

It would be very useful if the above feature is incorporated.

Guys!! What do u think about it?
Can anyone come up with a plugin for that

    Regards,
    Shafi

I think, I could answere for Edward, because he extend my explorer plugin with FTP support. At the moment we are finish with porting the explorer project from VC6 to .NET . So he starts with developing in near future. In few words:

        When it's done ;)

        Best Regards
        Jens

      Hello Shafi,

I just started to develop a ftp feature for the explorer plugin, from Jens Lorenz.

The plugin is gone look/feel like the functionality that editplus is providing.
      So the plugin will have:
        - open, edit, and save documents in remote FTP servers, true the explorer view.
        - save account information, this will be saved in a xml format or some kind. The username/password will be encrypted.

      Kind regrades,

I also would like to see such a feature, currently I'm using dreamweaver to edit my files because of it's syntax colouring, auto completion and ftp feature. I just found notepad++ and think it's a great product but it just misses the ftp feature.

Dreamweaver has a local and a remote area on which you work on, when you download a file from ftp it checks if you have a newer file local etcetera. So you're always working local, and after you've done the changes you want you can save it local and with a key-shortcut (ctrl-alt-u) you can upload the file you're working in to the ftp server.

Hope someone can build in such a feature, because if that is done I don't need dreamweaver anymore, because at this moment it is nothing more than a notepad to me :-)
