Function list: show classes and hierachy

Note: This is a request for enhancement of the "Function List" plugin.

When editing python files (I didn't checked with other file formats but I believe the behaviour will be the same), only function definitions are displayed in the "Function List". I assume it was the initial purpose but OO-languages also support classes and it would be very nice to show these classes as well, together with a tree structure. For the time being (v4.1.2), a file containing two classes of 2 functions will be displayed as:

function1
function2
---------

If you have a very large file with many functions, it's difficult to find out which function belong to which class when the function names are close from each other. A much improved display would be:

class1
  function1
  function2
class2
  function1
  function2
-----------

Note that some functions can also be defined outside of a class.

The quesion now: Do you think this is something possible for a future version of the plugin? Of course the plugin become more a "File Structure" than a "Function List" but everybody should evolve :-)

Can the Group(e.g. "INCLUDE", "CLASS") and Subgroup(e.g. "Class name" & "ENUM" & "METHOD" under "CLASS") defined by user?
If yes the Function List will be very very great. Since I want to define "HTML" as Group, and there is "Table", "input" under it. So that I can get all the html tags (with "id" or "name" attribute) in a php file to a list, it makes the navigation in the file much easier.

The following is what I mean:

Hi, I have good news for you!

I am near finish of my new Function List 2.0 ALPHA. The features will be:

- Storing of all parsing rules in a XML file (not in insertExt.ini anymore)
- Tree and List support with/without icons
- New "User Rules" dialog to change every language parsing rule

This will be the display of the tree:

O INCLUDE
O CLASS
|-O Class name
| |-O ENUM
| | |-- Enum 1

|   |-- Metohde 1
|   '-- Methode 2

Same file as list:

Enum 1
Enum 2
Methode 1
Methode 2

Also I plan to integrate until RC:
- Interaction with SpellChecker (Spell Checker checks only comments and text blocks)

What I have to do until the RC in addition:
- Performance improvement
- Fix some display issues
- Convert parsing rules for all languages

What I need from users/community:
- Trouble reports
- Update of language rules
- A bitmap file with icons (16x16 in a row) !!!

ALPHA version will be published this weekend!

I hope the "Interaction with SpellChecker" can be an option for user, because I will not use that.

Um.....icons? You means you want icon?

Function List works as before, but I will implement an interface for Spell Checker. When you check files, you can check only commets or text blocks. Therefore I will add in Spell Checker an check box.

The above site contains many icons, but it's not bitmap file. Can it be converted to bitmap?

You can generate an own icon bitmap for every language. Create with graphic program like gimp a bitmap which is in hight 16px by width 16px by amount of icons.
