When ever I'm working with files on my webserver (which I connect to through sftp), notepad will hang for about 3 seconds when I focus on any specific file within notepad++. I know this is my problem (slow connection or whatever), but is there any way I can stop notepad++ from accessing a file in any way unless it's saving or opening? If this is not the issue, what else could it be?
