When i use Windows XP, I can type text with unicode (encode in UTF-8), but in Windows 7 RC (build 7100), those text turn into "?" character, while i can still type correctly in Windows Notepad.
Example:
In windows XP: chất
In windows 7 RC: ch?t
Please fix this bug.

I have the same problem. I have installed the latest notepad++ - 5.3.1. I need to edit a file in Cyrillic, i.e. Russian language. in Windows Vista and earlier version it used to display the following:
Correct: словарь
But in Windows 7 Beta/RC: ñëîâàðü
I have another graphical problem with this notepad++.
After I press Ctrl+F (Find a word) and use it, I close that small window. However, it does not disappear, but makes its opacity be low and becomes slightly transparent. But it bothers, 'cos I hardly can see words under the Find-window. It simply does not disappear.
I hope someone will respond positively.

The "Find dialog" problem is resolving by disabling "transparency" checkbox in the bottom right cornet of itself.
As of cyrillic problem, I have the same thing, try to disable UAC or start N++ in Vista or XP compatibility mode.
BUT. When I set the Vista compatibility mode, I can not use the N++ from the Right Mouse Button (Open With) menu because it says it cannot find the needed DLL file. So I need to start N++ only from the shortcut on my desktop.

I've got the same problem when typing some Czech characters in Windows 7 RC x64. It used to work without problems and then suddenly, in the middle of writing some LaTeX document, I was unable to type some characters as they were being replaced with question marks (the already-written part of the document was OK, copying and pasting the problematic characters worked correctly). Runing Notepad++ in a compatibility mode (such as Vista SP2) solves the problem, as does running the ANSI build of Notepad++.

the find box bug is fixed. Just uncheck the line "transparency" in find box, it will disappear when you close.
