I have an XML file about 100MB with 1.8 million lines. The file will open in NPP fine, but as soon as I try to scroll down just one line, I might as well go to take a nap. Is there anything in the pipeline that can address this kind of issue? This is the biggest I've ever opened. Normally I am only dealing with about 400k lines, even those are slow but at least you can get work done. In my limited experience of maybe trying a handful of editors over the years all but one completely choke on bigger files. The only one I've ever found that doesn't is 010, which I just discovered today but it's pretty expensive.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I routinely edit 200+MB text files so the size of the file shouldn't be an issue. Try turning off syntax highlighting before scrolling to see if that helps.
Edit: You may also try turning off auto-completion to see if that helps.
