Hi,
I use N++ v4.0.2. I face a strange thing during searching text which was not there in 3.x? versions AFAICR.
- I press Ctrl-F to search + Find Next button
- N++ finds the pattern so I'm happy: I exit the search dialog
- I try to move the cursor up/down/left/right but no response. I have to click somewhere in the editing area to exit this "mode".
In earlier versions (3.x? AFACR) after finishing the search the text found was highlighted and as well selected - so I was able to cut or copy. This was a very confortable feature.
Is there a setting to avoid this problem and make N++ work like earlier?
Many thanks.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
I realized, that N++ _has_ the focus after closing the search dialog, so the fix works fine for me too. But the fenomenon is still there. The problem must be somewhere else. I'm going to try your reinstall suggestion. I Hope the best.
Otherwise I really like this piece of sw - it is the best editor I have ever used.

Joel,
thank you for dealing with me... :)

I believe this focus problem was fixed in the Explorer 1.2 plugin for 4.0.2. Visit https://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins for details. --Joel
Hi Joel,
unfortunatelly it wasn't or I do sg wrong.
I copied the dll into the plugins folder and restarted the editor but no change.
Any further suggestions?
Thx,

That fix worked for me, and others. I also installed the other plugin updates at the same time: Function List 1.2 and Hex Editor 0.7.
You might try re-installing it, and then copying the Explorer.dll (version 1.2 as of this writing) to the plugins directory again.
Do a search for "focus" on this forum. For example, see:
