    Is there a way to disable the feature that automatically adds an additional double quote if you type one, a closing brace, curly brace or paranthese if you type an opening one? I find this feature quite annoying, because after aquiring a quite high typing speed after years of training, I know have to think twice each time I type one of these symbols. If possible, please consider removing this feature from future versions, or at least have it disabled by default.

      It seems you use old version of Notepad++ or ConvertExt.dll (I mean \Plugins\ConvertExt.dll in the Notepad++ folder). The feature is already disabled by default in new ConvertExt.dll which is included in Notepad++ 4.0.1 and higher.
      If you don't want to update Notepad++, you can disable this feature:
      (Notepad++ main menu) -> Plugins -> ConvertExt... -> Options -> Brackets Autocompletion
