Cuteftp has a feature to edit a remote file. It downloads the file (to windows temp folder) opens it in the preferred program and ask you if you want to upload it upon saving. This works well with windows notepad but with notepad++ you can't save the file, it gets greyed out on the first try. You can choose save as and overwrite the temporary file but cuteftp then doesn't recognize the change and doesn't promt you to upload.
