I know this subject has been handled a couple of times, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for, to my question.
I'm currently using NPP 4.8. Every time I'm typing a "(", a "{" or a """, I get the counterpart "for free".
That's nice, but I don't want it the way it is behaving now. All counterparts are put on the same line, but some of them I want to have on another line (like the counterpart of "{").
What is strange, however, is that the Autoclose option in the TextFX plugin is *not* set. And still, I have this behaviour.
Better, when I set the Autoclose option, then I get two closing chars for one opening char. So, {}}, or """ or ()).
Obviously, I don't want this option to be switched on, for sure.
But my question is two-fold:
1. If TextFX is not doing the autoclose, who's doing it?
2. Is it possible to choose for each individual character ( {, " and ( )the way the counterpart is placed?

Thank you for saving my sanity! Like Geert, I was looking for a way to turn this off too and I had no idea that plugin was active and doing that to me either! I was losing my mind trying to find out how to stop that! *lol*

Probably you have the autoclose option set in the ConvertExt plugin ....

Indeed, you're right... I was not aware this plug-in was active.
