Господа, разработчики! Пожалуйста, добавьте поддержку DOS-овских кодировок, в интернете и на старых дисках полно файликов в кодировках OEM: cp866 и подобных. Не охота ради пары пунктов в меню ставить VC++ и разбираться в том, как оно работает. Вот если это будет реализовано, тогда действительно можно будет выбросить notepad, WordPad а также забыть про total commander и far.

Yo, man, did you go to the download section and read a description of ConvertExt 1.1 plugin? I guess, you did not. So you will be surprised when you do it at last. In addition, if you read the plugin's documentation, you will see it supports auto-recognition of cp866, koi8-ru and iso8859-5 for russian texts.
