I wish that you could have an option where if you have only one file open it hides the tab bar but then adds the tab bar as soon as you open another document but then hides it again if you close all the documents but one of them.
It could be enabled through the preferences window.
While it's enabled maybe you could even do Ctrl+T to open a new tab if that isn't already used by something else.
I'm really looking forward to this hopefully being added,
Thanks!

Using Ctrl+T to open a new tab with a new document would result in duplicate shortcuts, since Ctrl+N (new file) already does this. You can always remap "New" to Ctrl+T using the shortcut mapper (under settings menu).
As for the "Hide tab when only one document open" option, That would be a nice option to have, since most other multi-document editors have such an option.

I guess that "double mapping" is on purpose, to comply to most common options of most software around... wether you think as a new tab (like in FF) or as a new doc (in word) you get the correct shortcut

Both of your opinions reflect mine but the double mapping my intent resides with what heravar said.
While I honestly don't care about the shortcuts very much, the thing I want the most is the ability to hide the tab bar if one document is open. The ctrl+t would just be a nice addition.

I have a suggestions for tabs currently.

Do I need to add a feature request or are you going to work on adding it?
