Please, please support Linux. I fell in love with Notepad++ when I had windows and now with the switch to Linux, I got gedit and it's crappy syntax highlighting colors. Please port Notepad++ to Linux.

Out of pure curiosity and with no harm ment, i need to ask two questions.
1. Why switch OS and then whine about crappy software? It's like dumping your girlfriend because you want to slep around and then ask her to give you a blowjob because you din't get any.
2. There are programs letting you run Windows software on Linux and Linux software on Windows, i believe. Why not use those?

AFAIK, WINE does this under Linux, but there's no equivalent software under Windows.
But you can use vmware to run your linux box under windows.

The porting of Notepad++ to Linux is about rewritting whole project.
So far I have no time to do it.
For the moment, I installed UBUNTU 7.10 and run Notepad++ under WINE. I'm quite happy about it.

The -only- app I use wine for is Notepad++. That's it. I don't feel like I have to be on Windows because of *one* application.
And yeah, notepad performs well under wine. Would be nice for a native version, but it's not really a killer thing..
