Important Information Regarding nOS NonPAE

nOS 2.1 and nOS NonPAE Update Pack 3 will begin the Merger of nOS NonPAE with the standard editions. This means that the NonPAE edition will get updates the same way as nOS 32bit and 64bit do. This is aimed at avoiding confusion between the versions. The new NonPAE images will be available in the 2.1 download repository. If you have any questions contact the developer using the contact the developer page.

The 32bit files will be renamed to use i686 rather than i386 to reflect the NonPAE availability.

Further work will be undertaken to merge the two versions in terms of system content in upcoming editions.

Using The OEM Feature in nOS 1.5

Please Note that the 32bit edition of nOS 1.5 has a few issues regarding the OEM Feature. I advise you to not use the OEM Feature in 32bit nOS. For more details see bug Number 4.

nOS 1.5 introduces a new feature that allows you to configure a computer for shipping or giving to someone else.

This feature allows you to create a user during setup. Once setup is complete you logon with this user and you add any applications you may need. When you have finished adding applications you open the System Menu and click Prepare for shipping to end user. When you restart your computer the user will be asked a few questions about their new computer (similar to the ones asked during nOS setup). To learn how to use this feature follow the tutorial below.
