nOS 1.5 includes a 64bit Edition that allows users to install nOS on newer hardware. nOS 64bit is based on the same software as the 32bit Edition however it has been modified to address more than 4GB of Memory and it runs faster on most new systems. The 64bit Edition does include a few features that aren't in the 32bit version and vice versa. This is because of incompatibilities with the driver software. Please note that this version of nOS does not support UEFI. You will need to enable legacy booting in your UEFI settings.

An issue has been discovered in the 1.3 image for new installations. This issue involves the installer crashing midway through the installation rendering your installation unusable.

Immediately after this bug was found and confirmed the installation image was withdrawn. If you are looking to install a new copy of nOS on your computer I advise you to wait until the new image comes along (1.4) or you can install the 1.0 image and upgrade to 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.... read more

AN IsSUE HAS BEEN DISCOVERED IN THE IMAGE FOR NEW INSTALLATIONS. THIS FILE HAS BEEN REMOVED. YOU CAN EITHER INSTALL NOS 1.0 and then upgrade to 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 or you can hang on UNTIL 1.4 which should be out in a few days.

nOS 1.2 is a maintenance and feature upgrade for nOS. It includes a few bug fixes and enhanced compatibility. It also does a complete upgrade of all packages on the system.

Many computers nowadays are 64bit. This means that they can handle 4GB or More memory and it allows more processes to be run and it allows larger files to be processed.

When I first made nOS i didn't think it would be necessary to create a 64bit edition but I have now decided to create a 64bit edition. This version will go into mainstream use with nOS 1.5 however you can try out the beta now. This version of nOS does contain some features present in unreleased versions of nos (1.2 ,1.3 etc.) and it may contain features that aren't in current versions of nOS.

nOS Beta also has numerous bugs so only install this if you deem it necessary. nOS 1.5 Beta is available in an iso file shortly.
