I've just installed NetMess (V0.99 on W2K) but Messtray and Netmessnode exit immediately when I launch them. I see the NetMess icon in the traybar for a second and then it disappear. I've tried with tunnelling also, but nothing changed.
This is my log so far:

You probable have installed Netmess Node Manager as a service (try in your start menu, to select the 'Run...' entry, at the prompt type 'services.msc' and se if you have a Netmess Node Manger service started).
If ths s your case, then you do'nt need to run the node manager by hand each time (and you won't see a little icon in your tray bar), just run the Java Client to use netmess.
Does it help ?

Yes, it did help. Thank you. Now it starts. Well, it doesn't find anything and playing with the config I couldn't sort it out (other than getting a msg like "Unable to perform query on node 127.0.0.1. Premature EOF encountered" when I tried to change localhost with 127.0.0.1 in advanced tab). I think I will have to struggle a lot to have it working. BTW does port 7070 need to be open for netmess to work(I'm behind a firewall)?
Bye
