I am having the same problem as the other person -
Error 1068: Unable to create InstallDriver Instance when
I try to install the 1.3 version. Almost same system
specs - Win2K Pro, SP3 as of this morning. I already
have the packet driver installed from other
sniffers....could that be it?

Sorry for the delay. I was very busy....I cannot verify the error
message (all 15 Win2k machine on which I installed nmapwin
did not show the error). This I found on the Installshield page:
http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?
pcode=ALL&articleid=Q105819&source=support_central&prod
uct=wind
If this is not working, I will make a none-installshield version.

Another hint i found:
When attempting to install the software, the install fails half
way through with an InstallShield 1608 Error. The installation
ceases. As you can see byt the dialogues, this is an
InstallShield bug. InstallShield is the product that we
purchase and use to package our product for installation.
Now here's the fix (prepare to jump into the loony bin): This
problem only exists on systems that are not connected to a
network. If you install "Client for Microsoft Networks" on any
of your network adaptors such as a nic, dsl card, or modem,
reboot, then the software will install. Something happens
when you install Client for Microsoft Networks that puts the
system into a state that makes InstallShield happy."
Best regards
Jens
