Hello avid Nini users, Consider the following INI file contents: [Vars] OutDir=c:\test [Rule1] SourceDir=${Vars|OutDir}\rule1 [Rule2] SourceDir=${Vars|OutDir}\rule2 If I want to expand the key SourceDir in Rule1, then Rule2 (order doesn't matter) using the getExpanded() method, then an exception is thrown with "Key not found: OutDir". It works fine if I expand the key in either section, but not both. My workound was to instatiate an IniConfigSource object and call the ExpandKeyValues() method, then everything worked fine. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a known issue? Has someone else experienced this as well? Thanks! -Marc |

Hello Everyone, It's always a sad day for me when I discover that a spammer (and potentially dozens more) has found my mailing list. Don't worry because to prevent them from spamming this list anymore I have restricted it to members only. Warm regards, Brent. |

Hello Everyone, After nearly two years of development Nini has reached it's goal of a feature complete and stable 1.0 version. It has been powering my company's TV traffic report application which is broadcast in 10 US cities for over a year now. Needless to say anything software shown on TV needs to run flawlessly so you can rest assured that it will do the same for you :) http://nini.sourceforge.net/ Brent. -- Brent R. Matzelle |

Hi all, I have this code (in C#) for reading an .ini file: string filename = "c:\temp\test.ini"; try { IConfig config = null; IConfigSource source = new IniConfigSource(fileName); } catch(System.Exception ex) { File.Delete(fileName); } It works great with a well-formed .ini file, but I have a problem with a non valid .ini file which does not contain a '[' and a ']'. For example, I create an .ini file with only this word inside: nothing. The file still remains opened and I cannot delete it. How could I resolve this problem? Thanks. Damien Heckler |

Hey, That's excellent news! Send the zip file directly to my address (bmatzelle at yahoo dot com) and I'll take a look at it. I don't know a lot about the .NET Compact Framework but I'm sure that with some research I could alter the code to support it. Hey dudes, I have a version of the Nini framework (0.9.1) working in .NetCF. The port only took me 15 minutes. Basically, I removed the Xml and the Registry config sources and changed a couple of things. I think the missing config sources could be reimplemented easily to fit the .NetCF but I don't have time ATM. Let me know if you want a zip file with the binaries and the VS solution (Please, CC me as I'm not subscribed to the list). Regards, Rubio. |

Hello Everyone, Nini 0.9.0 has been released. This release includes changes to make Nini faster and more CLS compliant, thanks to some suggestions from FxCop. It includes enhanced INI support that enables you to fully load Samba smb.conf files as well as Python configuration files. It includes the normal number of bug fixes and documentation additions. There are a couple changes that will likely affect your source code: the IConfigSource GlobalAlias property has been changed to Alias and the '#' comment is no longer valid for INI files unless you choose a different INI type. Enjoy! Brent. |
