This patch is an initial step to supporting variables of type CP_NUM, which are currently “TODO’s” in comments. Fractions are also computed more efficiently.
In Linux the paranoia test suite passed, except for the same three tests that failed earlier, and in Windows with Cygwin, make check indicated all passes.
