Great hint. - Yes I got 2.4.34 to work (see my recent post on the list).

Used that hint for cross-compiling with crosstool form kegel.com and
with 2.95 it works!

My current problem is packing kernel and initrd that it works on ns1000.
mkelf-linux doesn't help here (see also other post).
