Hi,
just a few more words from me. I tested multiple X-Versions and got
nearly equal results:
X 3.3.6 FB works
X 4.1.0.1 FB works
X 4.3.0.0 locks up - remote action or power-cycling required.
I also did an s-trace. Last words:
open("/proc/bus/pci/devices", O_RDONLY) = 5
fstat64(5, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0444, st_size=0, ...}) = 0
mmap(NULL, 4096, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0)
= 0x30016000
read(5, "0058\t1014000a\t0\t00100021\t0000000"..., 1024) = 444
close(5) = 0
munmap(0x30016000, 4096) = 0
X-Log says:

Unfortunatly I do not know debian as good - so i was not able to test X
4.2. due to missing knowledge of apt-get and dpkg. But it is supposed
not to work according to the mail from Manty (12.6.). What can be done
to get X working? I have not found the Trio 64 V2/DX specification and
my cross-compiler does not work like it is supposed to do. NFS-Swap
seems to be not possible - so i cannot compile X on the Network-station
itsself - year i only know normal X86-Architecture right now...
Is this an X or a Kernel-problem? I assumed X.
Ciao
Christian
