Hi, first of all: Congratulation. You really managed it, to get linux working on the Networkstation (1000). When i bought mine about two years ago, i was very disapointed, because of the software delivered by IBM - now i can really have a debian on my box :-) But there is still some work to do. First of all, i would suggest, to provide binary packets directly on sourceforge. I already installed the cross-compiler and patched the kernel - but i did not manage to build my own Kernel :-( So i was very happy about the link to http://networkstation.aytolacoruna.es/ where i downloaded the kernel and a root-fs - so everything worked fine. Second: Is there a way to get X to work with 16bpp? I get an ugly green double-picture... The last point on my wish-list is really a add-on: I root-image, only providing an X-Server using xdmcp .. but i hope i will be able to do this myself by stripping the provided root-image. Thanks a lot and keep on this good work! Ciao Christian |
