#8 Unorganized category list

The list of categories in the left pane on the
filebrowser is too long - is there some way this can
be split into 'groups' or subcategories - or maybe
scrap the non-hierarchical business and just make a
simple hierarchy? It's too hard to find categories in
a non-trivial listing.
