dear netnice developers, i'm writing this message, specifically to Mark, Jaikumar, and Arindam, who have joined us for the libnetnice project, which is to rewrite control code of netnice applications utilizing the library for OS-independent network control. Mark, Jaikumar, and Arindam, thanks for joining us. i really appreciate your help. and, i'm sorry that i couldn't contact you after the initial contacts. i've been fairly busy in a writing task and unable to write to you. a bad news is that the libnetnice is not still ready. another bad news is that we're a bit behind the release schedule. although we scheduled to release the beta version on mar 1, the development is currently stopping due to time constraints of the core team. anyway. for further discussion/coordination of the libnetnice project, i would like to use the mailing list so that information is properly shared among all of us involved. and, first, i would like to confirm your machine setting. if you're reading the message, i would really appreciate if you confirm this, and please say hello to all of us :) or, if your situation has changed, not allowing to participate in the further process, that's fine. but, please just let us know. (i'm still coordinating for the OpenBSD part. i will try to fix the person in charge by the end of next week.) Hidekazu Kuriki NetBSD1.6.2 Mark H Van Tuyl FreeBSD5.3 Jaikumar Karkra FreeBSD4.11 Arindam Chatterjee Linux TBA OpenBSD3.6 again. sorry for the delay in the coordination process, and in the prototyping on NetBSD. i hope we make some progress this month. thanks, -- taka |

Hi All, I work for a Security company in India as senior developer. I found the netnice concept very interesting and planned to join the project. Don;t know how much time I'll be able to spend, still.... taka - you want to know about machine setting. Do you want to know whether we have the platform ready to work on ? I'll be ready with one Linux box running netnice patch within next few days. Plz correct me if you want to know something else. bye, arindamc On Thu, 03 Mar 2005 23:23:35 -0500, Takashi Okumura <ta...@cs...> wrote: > > dear netnice developers, > > i'm writing this message, specifically to Mark, Jaikumar, and Arindam, > who have joined us for the libnetnice project, which is to rewrite > control code of netnice applications utilizing the library for OS-independent > network control. > > Mark, Jaikumar, and Arindam, thanks for joining us. i really appreciate your > help. and, i'm sorry that i couldn't contact you after the initial contacts. > i've been fairly busy in a writing task and unable to write to you. > > a bad news is that the libnetnice is not still ready. another bad news is that > we're a bit behind the release schedule. although we scheduled to release the > beta version on mar 1, the development is currently stopping due to time > constraints of the core team. > > anyway. for further discussion/coordination of the libnetnice project, i would > like to use the mailing list so that information is properly shared among all > of us involved. and, first, i would like to confirm your machine setting. > if you're reading the message, i would really appreciate if you confirm this, > and please say hello to all of us :) or, if your situation has changed, not > allowing to participate in the further process, that's fine. but, please > just let us know. Hi, thanks Arindam. yes, i wanted to confirm that you'll work on linux. so the information below is perfect. please give us a few more weeks to prepare the prototype. meanwhile, you may install the Linux/Netnice just to get used to the netnice system. anyway. i really appreciate your help. please keep in touch. thanks! -- taka Arindam Chatterjee wrote: > > Hi All, > I work for a Security company in India as senior developer. Dear netnice users/developers, I'm sorry that I've not contacted you guys for so long. I've been negotiating with a developer in charge of the development of libnetnice. But, it finally turned out that he cannot contribute the implementation to the project. So, now, I am looking for other developers who can take over the implementation task, utilizing a specification he designed. Contribution to the specification is also highly appreciated. I have already posted a job description at sourceforge, but, if you find the task interesting, please let me know. * help wanted page https://sourceforge.net/people/viewjob.php?group_id=87780&job_id=23605 * libnetnice ML http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/netnice-library thanks, -- taka p.s. I'm also looking for several helpers to release Beta for OpenBSD and NetBSD. The task is quite simple. Please ask me for further detail, if interested.
