All my routers are SonicWALL firewalls. However, on my local network, I've got a mix of HP, Cisco and Avaya switches. If I'm reading this output right, -a is only going to the routers (firewalls) and ignoring the switches, which of course are where all the nodes are. Is that by design? n e t d i s c o -------------------------------------------------- Using Config File : /usr/local/netdisco/netdisco.conf concurrency mode enabled, max 25 concurrent processes Grabbing Arp Cache from all layer 3 devices (Wed Feb 22 14:27:01 2006)... load_old_devices() mac_getportmacs() ... found 132 MACs. arpnip(192.168.4.1) : get_device(192.168.4.1) arpnip(192.168.1.80) : get_device(192.168.1.80) get_device(192.168.1.80) - Connecting using cached info: 192.168.1.80/i/2 create_device(192.168.1.80,i,2,undef,3) arpnip(192.168.12.1) : get_device(192.168.12.1) get_device(192.168.12.1) - Connecting using cached info: 192.168.12.1/i/2 create_device(192.168.12.1,i,2,undef,3) SNMP::Info::_global layers : sysServices.0 arpnip(192.168.7.1) : arpnip(192.168.13.1) : SNMP::Info::_global description : sysDescr.0 get_device(192.168.4.1) - Connecting using cached info: 192.168.4.1/i/2 create_device(192.168.4.1,i,2,undef,3) SNMP::Info::_global layers : sysServices.0 SNMP::Info::_global layers : sysServices.0 SNMP::Info::_global description : sysDescr.0 SNMP::Info::device_type() layers:01001111 sysDescr: "SonicWALL 2 GHz Intel Processor (PRO 3060 Standa)".
