[Netdisco] easiest OS/distribution to get working with 1.0+?

What is the easiest OS/distribution to get working with Netdisco 1.0 or
1.1?  Is it BSD, Linux, something else?  Which distribution and version?  I
remember getting Netdisco 0.95 working with Ubuntu Server from source, but
it was literally an all day process.  I'm hoping to avoid this if someone
has had an easier time with something else.
