you need to do some database management - theres some documents that come with
NetDISCO that show you some basic 'vacuum' techniques - i'd advise a good
postgresql book for further tweaks and cleanups.

fwiw, we have 1086 devices and  12352 nodes and our DB is just over 1Gb
