Hi, I'm doing some network discovery based on snmp::info - and I have noticed that ->model() is actually modifying the resolved name from e.g. CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB. What happens it that it does $model =~ s/^(cisco|catalyst)//i; which strips cisco or catalyst from the modelname. This is probably fine because Netdisco maybe uses it but then we should either have a model_pretty() or a model_raw() which returns it unmodified. I can easily submit a patch but I would like to hear peoples prefences. Maybe the stripping should be moved entirely to Netdisco ? Best regards, Nicolai Petri catpipe systems aps |
