Dear Sir's

I'm trying to Install/Configure my wireless card on my
hp pavilion zt1195 laptop. My platform is Red Hat Linux
7.3 Professional. The Netcfg tools that shipped with
this version of red hat was suppose to have a wireless
configuration feature included but i was told that it
was pulled and not included at the last minute before
it went on sale. Therefore i've come across your Netcfg
tool and need a some help installing and configuring it
to my wireless card. I also have a netgear wireless
router. My wireless card is a : Ambit Corporation
Lan-Express IEEE 802.11b mini PCI t604300 adapter. My
Ethernet card is a : RealTek RTL8139/810x family PCI
fast ethernet nic. Also i don't know if i need any
additional drivers for this card to work? Your help
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

james

Howdy; saw your support request. Don't have time to answer
    it right
now, since I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving. I'll come
    back this weekend
and take a closer look at this bug.

In the meantime, maybe you could provide a couple more
    details, like exactly
what error message you're seeing, etc.

The way it *should* work is for you to simply install the
    .rpm file and run
the configurator as root. Then go to the interfaces tab and
    click "Add".
Then add a wireless connection and simply enter all your
relavent information. *Most* of the time, this simply
    consists of choosing "dhcp" on
the first tab and leaving all the other entries blank. If
    your wireless network
is running WEP, you'll need to enter the ESSID and key on
    the second tab.

    Hi Ed

Frist of all when i installed this version of netcfg i got a
" segmentation error". I installed with a rpm -Uvh
command. When i tryed to verify that it did intall with the
rpm -q command it says package gnome-netcfg-0.7-3 not
installed. Do you no how i can verify if it installed
correctly? Now when i run the netcfg command from the
command prompt in a terminal screen it comes up just fine.
Just like in the pictures on the website. Then the first
time i ran the application it gave me this error "
Application netcfg ( process 1698 ) has crashed due to fatal
error. Segmentation fault ". This is my first help issue?

Second the netcfg that came with my Red Hat 7.3 comes up,
but when i try/click add it bom's out with the dump file
that i've attached. Did i need to uninstall the netcfg that
came with my Red Hat first before i installed your version
    of netcfg?

Is there a wireless driver that i need to download/install?
If so do you know where i can download it and how to install it?

Finally i went through all the steps you put in your
response for configuring my card and i could never get it to
activate. Also i have a netgear wireless router that i'm
trying to go through so i won't be using dhcp, i'll be using
static ip. Does this matter also? Any help you can provide
would be greatly appreciated. thanks. james
