Just out of curriousity, have you updated RH 9 using up2date? I'm putting together Erik Horn's observation about the glib libraries with what the BRU people told me about their product. I was having some issues and they said, "You must have run the up2date or BRU wouldn't even run." I guess it was something about the glibc libraries. I know that RedHat back ported alot of the new threading from the 2.5 kernel to their RH 9 / Kernel 2.4 setup. I wonder if their earlier glib libs had some issues. This would explain why, when someone re-compiled their own kernel, these issues seemed resolved. Perhaps? I know when RH 9 first came out, there were plenty of bugs regarding their new kernel threading and libraries. Just a thought, since I'm running RH 9 and Netatalk 1.6.3/CNID with out a hitch or hiccup. There just has to be something different between the two setups.
