Yes, 2.2 has a 2gig file limit. 2.4's is much higher, although I don't remember off hand what it is. EXT2/3 is not the best file system to use if you are *primarilly* working with files of this size. SGI's XFS or ReiserFS are a bit better. If these are "odd case" files on this server, then EXT2/3 is fine.
