Greetings, Please forgive my ignorance if this is an inappropriate question for this list or if it is better addressed elsewhere. I have been attempting to compile the latest netatalk 2.2 betas from source on an Ubuntu 10.04 installation, but am encountering compilation errors that I do not encounter when attempting to build netatalk-2-1-4, which is the latest version with a Debian binary package in the Ubuntu repos, or netatalk-2-1-5. Exact steps taken for successful 2.1.4 build: git clone git://netatalk.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/netatalk/netatalk cd netatalk git checkout netatalk-2-1-4 ./bootstrap ./configure make Steps taken for unsuccessful 2.2 build (all versions alpha1 through beta4): git checkout netatalk-2-2-beta4 ./bootstrap ./configure make Failing compilation step: /bin/bash ../../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile gcc -std=gnu99 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../include -D_U_="__attribute__((unused))" -g -O2 -I../../sys -MT ldap.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/ldap.Tpo -c -o ldap.lo ldap.c libtool: compile: gcc -std=gnu99 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../include "-D_U_=__attribute__((unused))" -g -O2 -I../../sys -MT ldap.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/ldap.Tpo -c ldap.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/ldap.o ldap.c:56: error: array type has incomplete element type ldap.c:72: error: array type has incomplete element type I would appreciate any guidance on this issue. Please let me know what additional information would be useful to diagnose the issue. Thanks, Bryan Henry |
