Netactview is a graphical (GTK) internet/network connections viewer for Linux, similar in functionality with netstat. It is also similar with Windows programs like TcpView or CurrPorts. It's main advantage over netstat is asynchronous data retrieval and display. It can display and refresh large lists of connections fast and easily, including the asynchronously retrieved host name.

Feature details:

In order to use netactview some basic networking and computer knowledge is assumed. Although not required, you may need to learn about Internet Protocol, TCP/IP, Port Numbers, DNS, TCP Connection States, Sockets, Computer Processes.
