Initial Comment:
I believe that snmptrapd (and probably other daemons) 
only process the -F flag (format string) for output to 
stderr.  Output to syslog and/or files cannot be 
formatted.

Please consider processing the -F flag for all output 
streams.

I've just extended the main developement code to support
the syntax '-Ftype=format', using the same approach as the
"format" config directive.
   This support should appear in the 5.5 release
