Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Duplicate Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Wes Hardaker (hardaker) Summary: Improved context, agentX support Initial Comment: Context Bug: When registering a MIB under a non-default context, there were some peculiar problems because the subtree_context_cache was not initialized with the root subtrees(.0, .1, and .2) as is done with the default context. I updated the code so that the root trees are created prior to loading any other subtrees. AgentX Context Support: I added support to the AgentX code so that now a subagent may register MIBs using a non-default context. The same MIB can be registered under different contexts and using AgentX subagents. I have only dealt with distinguishing the contexts using the context name field and not the contextEngineID. The updates were tested on Linux Red Hat i686 platform. The patch was created against the publicly accessible CVS repository as it stood on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. MST. The patch was created using the following command in the net-snmp root directory: cvs diff -u > agentXContextUpdates.patch Please contact Dipen Patel at Motorola Computer Group for additional questions. dip...@mo... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2005-08-29 16:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 Is there a good reason why this item is still/again open? Looks like it should be closed for good now that 5.2.x and 5.3.dev seem to have proper context support. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Wes Hardaker (hardaker) Date: 2004-10-08 15:15 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=76242 Just main line. I think this is more than should go into 5.1.x... 5.2 is almost out anyway. I'm closing this. If the submitter feels that the current CVS (or 5.2.pre2 and above) doesn't incorperate everything, *please* let us know. This is one of those cases I wish I would have looked in the patches daatabse before implementing something myself ;-( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Story (rstory) Date: 2004-10-05 19:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=76148 Wes, you added agentx context support, right? did it just go into 5.2 cvs, or did it make it into V5-1-patches as well? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dipen T. Patel (pateldt) Date: 2002-08-15 12:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=595702 The AgentX context support doesn't apply to all AgentX pdu types. Register and Unregister are fully supported. No context support exists for index allocation, and I haven't looked at the others. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=312694&aid=595699&group_id=12694 |
