Patches item #558517, was opened at 2002-05-20 19:36 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=312694&aid=558517&group_id=12694 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Vishal Verma (vermavee) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: gracefully restart agent functionality Initial Comment: Hi, I have a patch, which allows sub-agents to shutdown snmp part of functionality gracefully using snmp_shutdown() and then call init_agent() and init_snmp() without exiting first. This is useful for developing agents which do other stuff besides being snmp (sub-)agents. The (sub-)agent may call snmp_shutdown() to disable snmp completely and then at a later stage (based on some condition) call init_agent () and init_snmp() again to turn on snmp part again. This procedure may be repeated any number of times. The current code doesn't clear the alarms properly and doesn't set main_session to NULL on snmp_shutdown(). This has been fixed in the patch. NOTE: This patch is for 4.2.3. This may be applied to 4.2.5 but not to the 5.0 line. cheers -vish ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=312694&aid=558517&group_id=12694 |
