Category: agent Group: linux Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: abc (idainet) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Possibly a memory leak in disman-ping realization Initial Comment: Version 5.7.1 for Linux possibly have a memory leak (or defined behavior?). Situation described below tends snmpd to tireless memory eating without freeing, until it's killed manually, or by the kernel How to reproduce: 4.3.2 4.2.4 1. Compile Net-SNMP 5.7.1 for Linux with disman-ping support (we used gcc 4.2.4, 4.3.2, 4.6.1 - all the same result) 2. Start snmpd and create a probe using script like snmpping (in attach). Originally we were using Frequency = 180 s, and ProbeCount = 3, but this just extends reproducing time 3. Now you can watch how memory consumption changes, using this script while :; do ps aux | grep snmpd | egrep -v 'trap|grep' | awk '{print $5}'; sleep 60; done Also in attach 3 ping*.c files with code coverage after running snmpd a while. It looks like pingProbeHistoryTable_delLast works fine, but 3 ping*_cleaner are commented (what role they play?) Please, tell us If you need more precise information, or have problems in reproducing Thanks is advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: https://www.google.com/accounts () Date: 2012-03-13 01:15 Message: This patch solves most of memory leaks https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3503259&group_id=12694&atid=312694 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: https://www.google.com/accounts () Date: 2012-03-05 01:59 Message: Valgrind output - https://gist.github.com/5bf24821307bd66a153f ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=3496247&group_id=12694 |
