Hi Dave, *Thanks for your valuable feedback.* As per your suggestion i have gone through README.snmpv3 file (in the source tree) and the SNMPv3 tutorials on the web pages. I worked on SNMPv3 queries as suggested in README.snmpv3 file and it worked fine. Now tell me, what other pre-requisite i need to follow in order to handle DisMan Event MIB ? *Thanks in Advance* *Prashant Nirni * On 25 November 2011 14:56, prashant n <pra...@gm...> wrote: > As per your suggestion, i created snmpd.conf file .... > and also i created snmptrapd.conf file which contains only single line > I am able to run the SNMP agent .... > and i started snmptrapd demon on other terminal > When i started SNMP agent i got following coldStart(Trap) on Manager side... > When i stopped SNMP agent i got following Shutdown(Trap) on Manager side... > and i tried for authentication failure trap ... That's the first pre-requisite sorted. > Now please suggest me on following things > 1) How to monitor scalar object(That i defined in MIB and able to access > using GET request) using DisMan Event MIB? > 2) Can you guide me the exact flow for monitoring scalar object for sending > SNMPv2 traps using DisMan Event MIB? Not so fast - I also said you need to get SNMPv3 queries working before you can think about using DisMan. Have you done that yet? Please have a look at the README.snmpv3 file (in the source tree) and/or the SNMPv3 tutorials on the web pages. You will understand things a lot better if you try to get this working for yourself, rather than me taking you through it step by step. Please try those tutorials first, and come back if you get stuck. Dave |
