Category: perl Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Andrew Teklemariam (andrew_abcd) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Handling "BITS" data types in SNMP.xs Initial Comment: Looking at the code in SNMP.xs __add_var_val_str function (V 5.2.2), it seems the BITS data type is handled as a character string. If for example, I set the field to" 'FC000000', SNMP.xs sends an 8 byte character string to the agent. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2009-08-16 02:20 Message: This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. You should be able to use perl's pack() function to convert hex to packed binary if needed though, so it shouldn't be hard. It would be nice, however, if we supported a bit specified method but we don't at the moment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thomas Anders (tanders) Date: 2006-01-12 21:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=848638 Are you willing to propose a patch? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112694&aid=1404244&group_id=12694 |
